Vyvgart Hytrulo combines efgartigimod alfa—an FcRn blocker—with hyaluronidase, which enhances absorption of the drug under the skin. The medication reduces levels of IgG autoantibodies by blocking the neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn), a protein that normally protects IgG from degradation. In gMG, harmful IgG antibodies disrupt nerve-to-muscle communication. By accelerating their breakdown, Vyvgart Hytrulo helps relieve muscle weakness and improve neuromuscular function. It is administered via subcutaneous injection once weekly for four weeks, with additional cycles based on patient response.
